Formal requirements
 
 
 Applications are open to:
 
 
 1.Holders of a master's degree or legal equivalent, in an area of sciences, biomedicine, bioengineering, health technologies or other related areas;
 2.Holders of a bachelor's degree in an area of sciences, biomedicine, bioengineering, health technologies or other related areas, with a school or scientific curriculum especially relevant that is recognized by the Scientific Council of the School of Medicine as attesting the ability to carry out this PhD program;
 3.Holders of an educational, scientific or professional curriculum that is recognized by the Scientific Council of the School of Medicine as attesting the ability to carry out this PhD program.
 
 
 The recognition referred to in points 2 and 3 only grants the access to this PhD Program, and it does not confer the recognition of a bachelor's or master's degree.

  Application deadlines
 
 
 -1st call of applications: from April 1st to June 15th 2022;
 2nd call of applications: from June 16th to October 15th 2022;
 -3rd call of applications: from October 16th to December 15th 2022;
 -4th call of applications: from December 16th 2022 to March 31st 2023.

  Vacancies
 
 
 For the academic year 2022/2023: 16 places are available, 1 of which will be for international students.
 
 
 Vacancies may be moved between contingents if there are not enough candidates who meet the minimum admission criteria in one of the contingents and will be distributed as follows:
 -1st call of applications: 13 places (1 of which for international students);
 2nd call of applications: 1 place (0 of which for international students);
 -3rd call of applications: 1 place (0 of which for international students);
 -4th call of applications: 1 place (0 for international students).

  Documentation
 
 
 a) Documents proving the candidate’s degrees (duly certified copy of the qualifications certificate, with a breakdown of the curricular units taken and the respective final classification) (mandatory);
 b) Detailed and updated Curriculum Vitae (mandatory);
 c)Identification document (Citizen Card / Passport) (optional);
 d)Other documents that might be relevant for the application.

  The application is made online, at the Academic Portal of the University of Minho.

  Preliminary dismissal / exclusion of applications
 
 
 Incomplete applications or submitted out of time will be rejected outright.

  Selection criteria
 
 
 Candidates will be selected by the Course Commission taking into account the curriculum assessment and the interview.

  Disclosure of the results
 
 
 -For the 1st call of applications: September 15th 2022;
 For the 2nd call of applications: December 15th 2022;
-For the 3rd call of applications: March 15th 2023;
 -For the 4th call of applications: June 15th 2023.
 
 
The results will be published at the Academic Portal of the University of Minho.
