Scope
iSSRMA course is designed for undergraduate and graduate
students, clinicians, researchers, and other health care professionals who
want to undertake and/or review systematic or scoping reviews and
meta-analyses. The course will include lectures on literature search
strategy, data extraction and management, quality assessment and bias, and
data analysis methods intertwined with individual tutored work sessions and
independent work, allowing students to advance their projects.
By the end of the course, participants should be able to:
- Perform the steps to conduct a systematic or a scoping review;
- Define a research question using the PICO framework;
- Design a systematic review proposal;
- Outline a search strategy, screen and extract data from relevant literature;
- Critically assess the risk of bias;
- Perform and interpret a meta-analyze.
This course does not provide credentials for the exercise of medicine for those without appropriate training, recognition and registered at the "Ordem dos Médicos" or international equivalent institutions.
