EEG professors in the winning team of the Economic and Social Council's competition for a study on life expectancy

Joana Cima
,a professor in the Department of Economics at the School of Economics and Management at the University of Minho (EEG), is leading the team that won the competition promoted by the Economic and Social Council (CES) to draw up a study on average life expectancy and healthy life years.
This study aims to analyze the relationship between average life expectancy and quality of life over the years, providing a basis for formulating informed public policies.
The winning team is made up of researchers from different fields, reflecting the interdisciplinary nature of the project:

(Department of Management),
Lígia Pinto
(Department of Economics),
Marco Catussi Paschoalotto
(Department of Political Science) and
Paula Veiga
(Department of Economics).
The winning team also includes researchers from the University of Minho, Alice Delerue Matos (Institute of Social Sciences),
Luís Pacheco Figueiredo
(School of Medicine) and
Patrício Costa
(School of Medicine).
Winning this competition is recognition of the work of researchers from UMinho's School of Economics and Management and their ability to produce knowledge that is relevant to society.
