The School of Medicine took part in the Alto Minho Science Fest, a festival dedicated to promoting scientific culture that took place in Arcos de Valdevez and brought together researchers, students, teachers and the general public around science, innovation and knowledge.
The event, promoted by the Municipality of Arcos de Valdevez in partnership with the Arcos Ciência Viva Center – Himalaya Creativity Workshops, featured a diverse program including lectures, roundtables, workshops, exhibitions and scientific shows.
During the festival, faculty members and researchers from the School of Medicine organized several activities as part of the Science and Technology Showcase, as well as sessions dedicated to science communication in the fields of health and biomedicine. These initiatives made it possible to present research projects developed at the institution, promote direct interaction with students and visitors, and encourage reflection on the impact of medical science on the well-being of society.
The participation of the School of Medicine in this event reinforces its commitment to science communication, education, and the strengthening of connections between academia and society, helping to make scientific knowledge more accessible and to inspire new generations to pursue careers in health and biomedical research.
The Alto Minho Science Fest brought together dozens of speakers and scientific projects, promoting debates and interactive experiences in areas such as technology, science, innovation and well-being, establishing itself as a privileged space for sharing knowledge and fostering dialogue between researchers and the community.
