The School of Medicine of the University of Minho hosted the 13th Minho Dermatology Conference on February 27 and 28, 2026. The scientific meeting, dedicated to the updating and sharing of knowledge in the field of dermatology, brought together specialists from several national institutions.
Organized by the Association of Friends of the Dermatology Department of Hospital de São Marcos, the event took place at the School of Medicine facilities on the Gualtar campus, in Braga, and was attended by healthcare professionals, researchers and faculty members working in the field of dermatology.
Over the course of two days, the scientific program included thematic symposia, roundtable discussions and sessions dedicated to different areas of the specialty. Topics addressed included the most common dermatological conditions, cutaneous oncology, pediatric dermatology and genital pathology.
The conference also featured sessions dedicated to emerging areas, such as the impact of nutrition on skin health and the growing role of artificial intelligence in clinical practice, promoting discussion on new approaches and challenges in the diagnosis and treatment of dermatological diseases. The initiative aimed to foster the scientific updating of healthcare professionals and stimulate debate among specialists, creating a space for sharing clinical experiences and discussing recent advances in dermatology.
The 13th Minho Dermatology Conference thus stood out as another important meeting point between the medical and academic communities, while also reinforcing the role of the School of Medicine of the University of Minho in promoting training initiatives and scientific dissemination in the field of health.
