What are the specific admission requirements for the Integrated Master’s Degree in Medicine?

| | Specific academic qualification verifiable as follows: |

| | - Holders of a Portuguese secondary education diploma: must pass the three required entrance exams: (02) Biology and Geology, (07) Physics and Chemistry, and (16) Mathematics.

Holders of a Brazilian “Ensino Médio” diploma: must pass the “Exame Nacional do Ensino Médio (ENEM)”, with the scores from the Natural Sciences and their Technologies and Mathematics and their Technologies sections being used for evaluation.

Holders of a non-Portuguese secondary education diploma: must pass entrance exams whose level, objectives, and nature are considered by the competent legal and statutory body of UMinho to
be equivalent to the national entrance exams. Alternatively, applicants must be approved in final exams from foreign secondary education programs that are legally recognized as equivalent to Portuguese
secondary education, provided that UMinho validates them as a substitute for the required entrance exams, in accordance with the law.

Applicants without official documentation proving their specific academic qualification: must pass the Physics and Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology-Geology exams, held in person at UMinho.

| Notes: The valid scores for admission to UMinho in the 2026/2027 academic year are those obtained in exams taken in 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025. The exams held at UMinho for the purpose of this application process are valid only for the academic year to which it relates. |
| | | | | | Proficiency in Portuguese at B1 level of the CEFR - Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, verifiable through official documentation or a written and/or oral exam; or Proficiency in English at B2 level of the CEFR - Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, verifiable through official documentation or a written and/or oral exam. |

- A2 level holders (Portuguese) or B1 level holders (English) may apply, provided they formally declare their commitment to attending a one-year language course while attending the first year of the Integrated Master’s Degree in Medicine. By the end of the year, they must present proof of the language level achieved. Students who do not achieve B1 or B2 proficiency level in Portuguese or English, respectively, will not be able to renew their registration at UMinho until they provide evidence of having reached that level.

Holders of secondary education obtained in countries where Portuguese is the official language are exempt from the Portuguese language test. However, the academic unit reserves the right to
request official documentation whenever deemed necessary.

Prerequisite: Group A – “Interpersonal Communication: Absence of any psychological, sensory, or motor disability that severely affects functional capacity and interpersonal communication to the
extent that it prevents one’s own learning or that of others.”The assessment must be conducted by a physician registered with the Portuguese Medical Association and submitted
at the time of enrollment and registration.
