  Study Plan

The degree in Medicine at the University of Minho has been structured from its inception in full alignment with the Bologna Process. The first three curricular years award a Bachelor’s Degree in Basic Medical Sciences, and upon completing the six-year curriculum, students earn a Master’s Degree, qualifying them for access to all medical specialties available within the European space.

The new study plan, MinhoMD, was introduced in 2020/21, featuring a diverse, personalized, and autonomous curriculum, allowing students to shape their own academic journey. MinhoMD was co-designed by the entire School of Medicine community—including faculty, researchers, and students—as well as representatives from healthcare institutions, alumni, and even patients.
