Anaesthesiology is a constantly expanding science. One of the fastest growing areas in the last decade is regional anesthesia. Particularly using ultrasound guidance.

It is the mission of CAR/ESRA Portugal to organize high quality training programs. Peripheral Nerve Blocks applied Sonoanatomy born from this commitment, in partnership with the School of Medicine, University of Minho.

Course Objectives
- Understanding the essential anatomy for performing successful regional anesthesia techniques in the cadaver
- Train acquiring ultrasound images (transducer manipulation, transducer-eye coordination-needle)
- Understanding Ultrasound basic principles
- Perform basic, intermediate and advanced peripheral nerve blocks with ultrasound guidance
- Recognize basic structures (nerves, vessels, bones) and artefacts in the ultrasound image


This course does not provide credentials for the exercise of medicine for those without appropriate training, recognition and registered at the "Ordem dos Médicos" or international equivalent institutions.​
