Application process
 
 
  The applications are made online, at the Academic Portal of the University of Minho.

  Formal requirements
 
 
 Applications are open to:
 
 
 1.Holders of a first degree or legal equivalent in the areas of sciences, biomedicine, health technologies or related;
 2.Holders of a foreign higher education academic degree awarded following a first study cycle organised in accordance with the Bologna principles by a state party to this process;
 3. Holders of a foreigner higher education degree that is recognised by the Scientific Council of the School of Medicine as meeting the objectives of a first degree;
 4. Holders of a academic, scientific or working CV that is recognised by the Scientific Council of the School of Medicine as reflecting ability to complete this study cycle.

  Application deadlines
 
 
 -1st call of applications: from March 5th to April 20th 2026 (only for international students);
 -2nd call of applications: from July 4th to 15th 2026 (for national students and, if vacancies remain from the 1st call, for international students);
 - 3rd call of applications*: from September 3rd to 10th 2026.
  *conditional - for the remaining vacancies of the 1st and 2nd call of applications.

  Vacancies
 
 
 For the academic year 2026/2027 are available 30 places, 6 of which will be for international students. The minimum number of students is 12.
 
 
  Vacancies may be moved between contingents if there are not enough candidates who meet the minimum admission criteria in one of the contingents and will be distributed as follows:
 -1st call of applications: 6 places (for international students);
 - 2nd call of applications: 24 places (for national students)*;
 - 3rd call of applications: remaining vacancies of the 1st and 2nd call.
  *Any vacancies remaining from the 1st call of applications will be available to international students.

  Documentation
 
 
 a)Documents proving the candidate’s degrees (duly certified copy of the qualifications certificate, with a breakdown of the curricular units taken and the respective final classification) (mandatory);
 b)Detailed and updated Curriculum Vitae (mandatory);
 c)Identification document (Citizen Card / Passport);
 d)Other documents that might be relevant for the application.

  Preliminary dismissal / exclusion of applications
 
 
 Incomplete applications or submitted out of time will be rejected outright.

  Disclosure of the results
 
 
 -For the 1st call of applications: until May 8th 2026;
 -For the 2nd call of applications: until July 29th 2026;
 - For the 3rd call of applications: until September 17th 2026.
 
 
  The results will be published at the Academic Portal of the University of Minho.

  Registration and enrollment
 
 
 -For the 1st call of applications: from May 13th to 18th 2026;
 -For the 2nd call of applications: from August 4th to 11th 2026;
 - For the 3rd call of applications: from September 21st to 23rd 2026.
