Programme
The 8th Epidemiology course will be held from November 25th to December 19th 2024 and is divided in 3 modules.

MODULE 1: EPIDEMIOLOGY AND CLINICAL RESEARCH (EPIC) |
Module one will focus on epidemiological and statistical training, which will empower students to carry out good clinical research. Training sessions will be held with formal lectures and problem-based exercises. Students will be encouraged to write a scientific manuscript to be presented at the end of the module. |
MODULE 2: EVIDENCE-BASED PRACTICE (EBP) |
The module is meant for health care practitioners and will provide a basic introduction to the principles of Evidence-Based Practice (EBP). EBP refers to the integration of clinical expertise, patient values, and the best research evidence into the decision making process for patient care. The module will feature a brief introduction to systematic reviews and meta-analysis procedures. |
MODULE 3: GLOBAL HEALTH AND HEALTH SYSTEMS (GHHS) |
Module three will focus on Global and Population Health, Health Systems, Health Economics, and Epidemiology of communicable and non-communicable diseases. Learning and teaching will be based in formal lectures, problem-based activities and individual learning.
