At the conclusion of this course, the clinician will be able to:
Understand the importance of anatomy in surgery;
Describe effective room set-up for laparoscopy;
Describe patient positioning and trocar-placement for laparoscopic gynecologic procedures;

Determine the fundamental techniques in laparoscopic suturing;
Demonstrate optimal bite placement and knot tying technique during laparoscopic tissue approximation;
Predict, manage and prevent complications, including ureter, bladder and bowel injuries in laparoscopic surgery;
Know about electrosurgery as a very useful surgical tool - its actions and its complications;
Apply the skills necessary to perform laparoscopic hysterectomy, myomectomy and pelvic reconstructive surgery while minimizing conversions.
